1. Tell us a little bit about your background and how you end up in SWFL? Or if you’re from here originally.
“We moved from Austin, TX to Cape Coral 10 years ago and started the business is 2018.”
2. When did your passion for popcorn started?
“For 30 years, Julie Caracappa -owner of Wild About Popcorn- had dedicated her life to being a pediatric emergency room nurse. Every day, she witnessed the tears and fears of young patients and their families, and she became determined to brighten up their life.
One fateful day, after a particularly tough shift, Julie decided it was time for a change. She had always been an adventurous soul, and she yearned for a new way to spread happiness. That's when the idea of a popcorn shop took root in her heart. She envisioned a place where people could forget their worries and immerse themselves in the simple pleasure of delicious, unique flavors.
Julie dove headfirst into her popcorn adventure, experimenting tirelessly in her small kitchen. Her passion was relentless, and she knew that every kernel she popped had to be a burst of happiness. Each recipe was a labor of love, and she never stopped until she was satisfied. Wild About Popcorn quickly became a beloved local treasure, and its reputation spread like wildfire.
The shop's menu is a kaleidoscope of flavors. From the original Sea Salt Caramel, which is a perfect blend of sweet and savory, to the outrageous Sour Patch popcorn that tantalizes taste buds with its zesty twist, there is a flavor for every palate.”

5. Which one is your favorite flavor?
“The White Cheddar. She found a really nice mild white cheddar cheese that is absolutely delicious on our popcorn.”
6. What is your favorite thing about SWFL?
“Favorite thing about SWFL is the laid back lifestyle. We left Austin when it started to turn into a big city. While I -Ed- grew up in that environment, Julie prefers the relaxing feel of suburbia.”
7. What inspires you daily?
“We're inspired every day by our customers, our business partners and the community of small business owners here in SWFL. We've made so many friends through our business that it has become a source of joy for us. Being a part of the community here is truly being connected with folks who are friendly, helpful and consistently root for one another to succeed.”
8. Any advice for people wanting to start their own local business?
“Small business ownership is not for everyone. It will become your life so be sure you pick a business that has deep meaning for you and that you are passionate about. I would advise anyone getting ready to start a business to double whatever they estimate it will take in both time and money!”
